A Temporary sense of permanence

We have lived and thought of our world as permanent

and endowed with inexhaustible resources. Mountains in particular offer us this image of power and summits to conquer. Yet they are also a fragile environment that is feeling the full brunt of climate change.

This collection explores my feelings about these breathtakingly beautiful landscapes and the drama of their impermanence..

Temporary feeling of permanence - 22 x 22 cm - 2022

Poetry from the edge - 30 x 30 cm - 2022 - Sold

Le Passage - 100 x 100 cm -

Deeply touched by the disappearance of the glaciers in the Alps,

I wanted to bear witness to this period when what was thought to be eternal is disappearing, and to show the mountains in all their majesty but also in all their vulnerability.

A temporary sense of permanence

In the mountains, the blue sky is particularly intense. Dynamic charcoal and thin pencil lines highlight the erosion of rocks by water and ice, symbolizing the passage of time.

La terre est mon jardin - 40 x 40 cm - 2022 - sold

Spring always evokes the renewal of the earth. In the mountains, we see it coming earlier and earlier. However, my paintings are meant to convey hope, a confidence in nature to regenerate itself and in the rest of us to take care of it.
